My chapter is titled “The Effect of the Great Recession on Corporate Governance,” in which I analyze the impact of several aspects of the 2007-08 Crisis on the two mechanisms that produce minority shareholder protections — pension preferences and the global investor mechanisms. I test these hypotheses against a data set of corporate governance indices from GovernanceMetrics and RiskMetrics, through 2008.
