Haystack Labs (HLI)
Haystack Labs was founded by Steve Smaha in Austin, Texas, to design and sell sophisticated computer intrustion detection softwate. I was an investor and served on the board, and enjoyed it immensely. Customers included the NSA, among others. Haystack was acquired by TIS and then (in turn) by McAfee in 1997.
